Communion Time
I live very close to a beautiful Catholic church, and am always delighted to see the children streaming out on a sunny April or May day, dressed in their First Communion finery. They look so proud to have fulfilled an important sacrament, to be the center of attention for the day, and to be made to look like beautiful princes and princesses. click image to enlarge
I’ve had the pleasure of commemorating this occasion with many portrait sessions. Even if your child’s big day has come and gone, it’s not too late. Book a portrait session while the dress and suit still fit! I design custom photo thank you cards that are a gracious way to thank those who celebrated with you. After-school sessions are available, contact me for availability.

ONE! The Cake Smash Session
I love being there to capture all of a baby’s first year milestones – the sweet smooshiness at the newborn session, smiles and pushing up at 3 months, giggles and feet-grabbing at 6 month, and sitting, standing and getting busy at 9 months! But we pull out all the stops for baby’s first birthday session. Here’s how it breaks down… just like a party. We keep it fun and keep it moving – your one year old will love it.
Step 1. Get Balloons
Balloons are of course necessary for any birthday celebration. I always make sure they’ll match the birthday outfit!
Step 2. Play, play, play
It’s your party – play peekaboo, dance to your favorite music and charm everyone with your cuteness.
Step 3. Eat Cake
What’s a party without cake? And this time, the guest of honor gets to devour it all by herself!
Step 4. Clean Up
Cake, cake everywhere – what’s a girl to do? Time for a bath with a rubber ducky or two!
Step 5. Preserve the Memories
There are lots of great ways to remember your baby’s first birthday. We can create a custom album with shots from the whole session, or a storyboard like this, with the progression of the cake smash.
Mark this important milestone with a fun photo session, and have a very very Happy First Birthday!
First Easter
I was so happy to be able to squeeze this little guy in last month before I went on vacation. I think this post was worth waiting for, because Easter Sunday just seemed like the perfect day to share this adorable photo! The bunny and the hat and blanket were gifts from his grandmothers and I think I can tell from the smile on his face that he likes them!
A very masculine gray-on-gray combination looks great on this guy.
Oh how I love my fire babies! It’s been a while since I had a firefighter dad in the studio – and I just love how sweet and comfy he looks in his dad’s fire helmet!
And lastly, enjoy this very peaceful looking shot. I won’t tell you what our dear Baby B did right after this… but if you can imagine getting sprayed by a fire hose, you’d be close… LOL!
Have a very Happy First Easter!
