Peaceful

I had an amazing time photographing this little baby and his big brother for a dear friend. Doesn’t big brother look proud?

Peaceful brothers

This newborn baby boy was so tiny, so cozy and so sweet. Peaceful baby in a basin

The lips! The soft neutral colors and soft textures. Sigh, I love this one. Peaceful sleep

I love the dramatic simplicity of this black and white portrait. You can imagine exactly how the baby might have been cocooned in the comfort of his mama’s belly! Peaceful

Double Blessings

I always love seeing the children I photograph grow and change over the years, and celebrating new milestones with these special families.  I met the C family when I photographed their 2nd son for his First Communion, and it was a pleasure to meet all 4 boys in this family – check out the photos here!

So I was more than pleased when they contacted me to do First Communion portraits of their twin boys. Although they are not actually identical twins, they are quite similar not only in their handsome appearance but in their good manners and sweet personalities, as well.

Congratulations and thank you for including me in your special celebration.

Personality

I had such a BLAST during this shoot. Love these two kiddos. Perhaps just as special as the kids’ sweet spirits was the mom’s kind comments after our session:

The photographer, Gretchen Murcott, was amazing! She created a fun and comfortable atmosphere that made the kids open up immediately and revealed their true personalities. She has mastered the delicate art of child photography. I highly recommend Chickadee Photography!!!

I’m so flattered! But I have to agree that every parent I know would want a photo of their two kids like this.

The tie, the shorts, the suspenders… his outfit and timeless charm called for a prop with a vintage appeal…

With a sparkle in his eyes and sweetness in his smile, I have a feeling this little heart breaker will get anything he wants!

Big sister was equally charming and full of personality. In fact when I see this picture, the song “Personality” comes to mind…

And lastly, she was more than happy to sass it up in this adorable tutu and coordinating headband from Fia Bella Boutique. I have to thank them for sending these pretty things my way!

This family is super special to me, and I’m so happy I was able to capture the kids’ personalities. Their Mom told me that the kids were asking about me on the way home and wanted to spend more time with me, which is the ultimate compliment!  We’ll definitely do it again soon. ♥

Rising Star

This little lady is multi-talented and pursues acting and modeling.  I met her when we did headshot portraits last year.  Because children change so quickly, her agent wanted her to have updated images, and I was excited to see her again. She makes a photo shoot lots of fun!

Sweet Siblings

I really love seeing the same families over and over. Recently I got to see another one of my very first newborns looking all grown-up as he welcomed his new baby sister to the family!

Here is Mr C when I first met him:

And now, quite the personality!

He was very sweet to his new little sister…

She is perfectly adorable in every way!

Don’t you love these beautiful neutral tones? She looks so angelic.

Congratulations, N Family, on these two beautiful children!

A is for Adorable

One of my favorite little models is now a big sister!  Remember this little beauty?? She’s really growing up.

I was not surprised at all when her new little brother was also a perfect poser. Isn’t he adorable?  Loving the little foot peeking out. xoxo

And finally – I love this little face and tiny fingers. I had so much fun snuggling you, Mr. A!

Congratulations and I can’t wait to see you all again soon.

Birthday Girl

It was such a delight to see little Miss M again after meeting her family during my holiday sessions last fall. This time we were celebrating her first birthday!

Nothing like a colorful birthday banner to get the festivities started…

She’s this close to walking on her own!  But for now, mom and dad lend a hand.

Big sister joins in the fun…

Looking very pretty in pink!

And finally, a sailor girl shot inspired by mom’s own baby pictures. She was thrilled to take a ride on this vintage rocking boat!

Thanks for letting me be part of your birthday celebrations :)  I can’t wait to see you again.

ONE! The Cake Smash Session

I love being there to capture all of a baby’s first year milestones – the sweet smooshiness at the newborn session, smiles and pushing up at 3 months, giggles and feet-grabbing at 6 month, and sitting, standing and getting busy at 9 months! But we pull out all the stops for baby’s first birthday session. Here’s how it breaks down… just like a party. We keep it fun and keep it moving – your one year old will love it.

Step 1. Get Balloons

Balloons are of course necessary for any birthday celebration. I always make sure they’ll match the birthday outfit!

Step 2. Play, play, play

It’s your party – play peekaboo, dance to your favorite music and charm everyone with your cuteness.

Step 3. Eat Cake

What’s a party without cake? And this time, the guest of honor gets to devour it all by herself!

Step 4. Clean Up

Cake, cake everywhere – what’s a girl to do? Time for a bath with a rubber ducky or two!

Step 5. Preserve the Memories

There are lots of great ways to remember your baby’s first birthday. We can create a custom album with shots from the whole session, or a storyboard like this, with the progression of the cake smash.

Mark this important milestone with a fun photo session, and have a very very Happy First Birthday!

All Heart

This family was so blessed, a handsome big brother and a precious baby girl. What an angel! Her eyes are just gorgeous.

The older brother was so sweet, and look how handsome!

And finally the parents, as they celebrate the birth of their little girl. I could tell, their hearts are truly full.

Thanks for visiting! Leave a comment to let the family know you were here and when we reach 25 comments, they will get a free gift (one comment per person please)!

Santa Babies

Before everyone rings in the New Year and starts taking down the holiday decorations this weekend, I wanted to share some of the many wonderful holiday sessions I did this year in the studio. My favorite thing is looking at all of my clients’ Christmas cards and these shots are on my ‘wall of fame’.

I hope you all had a magical Christmas and wish you all a very happy New Year!
