Category Archives: Headshots
Many times the reason I am asked to do professional headshots for someone is because they are about to be published and don’t have a head shot available to run with their article. These two attorneys are examples of that. I’m so proud to support their success with a portrait that is as professional as their words.
Thomas R. Villecco is an accomplished appellate attorney who has achieved a wealth of experience. His firm handles appeals in nearly all areas of the law. They have argued dozens of appeals in the Appellate Division, First Department, the New York Court of Appeals, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.
His new article is published in the New York Law Journal and is Preserving Harm: How Trial Counsel Can Enhance the Record on Appeal.
Steven Glassberg is the founder of Glassberg & Associates, LLC, New York, N.Y. and Port Washington, N.Y. The founder of Glassberg & Associates, LLC, Steven H. Glassberg concentrates in real estate transactions and small business matters. Mr. Glassberg represents banks, purchasers, and sellers, performing over many closings annually. His real estate practice includes residential and commercial closings, commercial leases and representing residential and commercial clients in Landlord Tenant Court.
Congratulations to you both on being published and I wish you continued success!
This little lady is multi-talented and pursues acting and modeling. I met her when we did headshot portraits last year. Because children change so quickly, her agent wanted her to have updated images, and I was excited to see her again. She makes a photo shoot lots of fun!
I had the unique pleasure of creating professional headshots for a musician recently! Kathryn Prinz plays the flute — four sizes of the flute to be exact! — and also is one of the rare and few who plays the zither. Not only did I have fun styling, posing and lighting her with her instruments, I was also treated to a lovely musical demonstration!
Kathryn also warmed my heart when she sent me this message the following day: “Thank you so much for the photo session yesterday! I wasn’t sure what to expect, but you put me completely at ease, and in fact, it was a lot of fun! Your photography joy and passion are so evident when you are working. It was fun to watch your creative muse at in action! You have such a special gift, Gretchen. I’m grateful for the opportunity to work together.” Messages like this absolutely make a photographer’s day!!
I also have to share a shot or two of her with the zither – it’s really a beautiful instrument! More people should learn and keep the tradition alive, and Kathryn is helping to do that. Information about her studio and lessons is below. I doubt you could find a nicer, more supportive teacher!
The Prinz Music Studio, Oyster Bay, NY, provides an opportunity for children and adults, to learn, be encouraged, and enjoy playing the flute and zither instruments. All music instruction is provided by Kathryn A. Prinz, who has been inspiring music students for over 30 years.
Kathryn’s philosophy to music and teaching focuses on the joy of learning and sharing music. She customizes lessons to each individual student, working to challenge each student to their potential, yet in a way which makes learning enjoyable, fun, and inspiring. Flute and zither ensemble programs are also offered. For more information, contact Kathryn at 516-522-1230 or through the studio website at www.prinzmusicstudio.com.
I was thrilled to work with this attorney on her professional headshots; she’ll be using them in some marketing collateral. Mindy was easy to work with and made the session fun. And she paid me the highest compliment by calling it “painless”. Whether I’m working with kids or adults, that’s always my goal!

Is it time to update your look? Our professional and fully retouched headshot photos present you looking your very best. Come to the studio in Port Washington, or we can come to your workplace. Inquire about special rates to photograph multiple employees or the entire office, helping you create a unified corporate image.
The old adage, “you never get a second chance to make a first impression”, has taken on new meaning in the digital age. Rather than think about how you present to people in person, you now have to think about how your image comes across in the online world. Instead of your insightful comments, people encounter your website’s prose. Rather than see how neatly you are dressed, they’re looking at the quality of the graphic design on your website or brochure. And instead of being impressed by your quick smile, the sparkle in your eyes and the firmness of your handshake, they make conclusions about you from your photograph.
Yes. Your headshot is more than just a picture, it’s the closest people can get to making a personal connection with you in cyberspace. And whether business or social interactions are your goal, a strong connection is the beginning of any good relationship.
Real Estate is an industry driven by personal relationships. Prudential Douglas Elliman Agents, like Gabriellle Roth-Zofchak pictured above, know how important it is to start those relationships on the right foot. Her approachable image complements her bio page and can also be used on brochures and business cards so clients can connect a face with a name.
Having a professional photograph on hand also means you’ll be ready to put your best foot forward when great media opportunities arise. Check out these articles featuring headshots I took for executives at Long Island-based businesses Karma411 and General Sentiment.
Your company’s brand image relies on consistency – and that ranges from big-picture items like presenting the same look and feel online and offline, to details like having similar headshots for each employee, like these of the team at Karma411, a company that combines social networking with cause-based fundraising.
Contact me to discuss your photography needs; individual and corporate headshot packages are available. Individual photos can be taken at my studio or I can come to your office for larger groups. I provide fully retouched digital images optimized for use online and in print – review the gallery for more examples. If improving your business image is one of your goals for 2011, this is a great way to get started.
