Lil Bro
This family has become very special friends of ours, so I was thrilled when I heard they are going to have a second baby boy!
Here is the big brother, back when he was just a few months old:
And the newest little man – we loved all of these images so I created a storyboard for his nursery.
I’m sure these two brothers will have as much fun together as mine do. Congratulations and I can’t wait to watch him turn into a handsome young man like his big brother.
Tough Guy
This newborn session started with low expectations. The mom told me, “I’m not sure we’re really going to get anything, he’s fussy and is hard to get to sleep and fights the swaddle. I guess we’ll just try to get a few shots.”
I talked the mom into coming for a session anyway and planned to try my best. Well – thanks to my MAD baby soothing skills (LOL – and a measure of good luck), Mr. Tough Guy turned into the cutest little moosh and it became into one of my best sessions! There are so many images I love, I couldn’t even decide what to post.

Splash!
After the crazy heat wave we just had, the pouring rain yesterday was a relief, wasn’t it? The massive puddles reminded me to dig out these shots I took of my son splashing in rain puddles last month (when it was much, much cooler – which is why he’s wearing jeans). Although he was decked out in his adorable rain gear, he still couldn’t resist sitting down in the puddles and getting completely soaked. It was totally worth it for all the fun and smiles (and fierce faces too, which always make me laugh).
Tickled
This family was so much fun and were totally relaxed in front of the camera, what a treat! There were so many spontaneous moments of laughter, especially when mom and dad were tickling 2 1/2 year old Mr. D, that I couldn’t resist putting together a storyboard of these shots. This would be perfect hanging in his room, don’t you think?
He had his serious moments, too… like when he was playing a bit of cat-and-mouse with me. I love the expression here. Melts my heart.
Just when you think a child is absolutely done with pictures, break out a cardboard playhouse. It immediately sparks the imagination and we had a blast watching D go in and out; he even made us some pretend coffee in the imaginary kitchen – what a gentleman.
